We are in the home stretch friends! The holidays are officially right around the corner and I couldn't be happier that today is my last day in the office. I'm ready for sometime off with family and friends. For endless amounts of cookies on Christmas Eve. And unplugging for a few days. While it certainly doesn't feel like winter {see today's bare legs}, I am really going to try my best to present and relaxed these next few days.

This look may not scream "holiday" to you, but let me tell you it is absolutely one of my essential holiday outfits. I found myself standing in my closet trying to find an appropriate outfit {you've been there, right} for drinks for friends and I ended up reaching for this old tried and true outfit. The velvet fabric and metallic pattern of the top elevate from a simple top and blazer look in my opinion. After adding a few finishing details with gold jewelry I was good to go.

New Normal

Bare legs in December?! Apparently that's the new normal in Cincinnati this year. So much for snow or cooler temperatures, but I have to say 70 degree weather was pretty nice. I went for a walk around the neighborhood. Wore short sleeves, and as you can see here, went bare-legged. If only it didn't get dark a 5pm. 

Maybe next year December, maybe next year.

You could say I subscribe to a uniform mentality. Skinny pants and flowly tops are my go-to all year around. I throw in a dress or skirt here and there, but ankle pants are my jam. 

In the winter, I keep the same elements and just start adding layers. Today is a perfect example of my winter uniform. I've gotten away from wearing cardigans the last few years, but I needed the extra layer on this frosty morning. And with a sleek black vest overtop, it pulls the whole look together and feels more interesting. And like that, I've just found the winter take on my go-to outfit.

Dusters are a thing, and I'm a fan. After wearing this cardigan coat in the Anthropologie Fashion Show I knew it would be finding a home in my closet. It's a beautiful color and it's beyond soft. Speaking of the color, it's an under-represented one in my closet. But I have so many ideas for this duster darling. Dressed up for work, over dresses, playing up complimentary colors.
